Choosing to engage in therapy is a courageous choice (even when it doesn’t feel that way). It is my philosophy that you are already your own best healer; I am here to work with you and hold a nurturing and supportive environment; to help guide and ground you as we work through your healing.
In working with children, teens, and adults, I have appreciated and valued the concept of healing the whole person on all levels - body, mind, and spirit. I feel it also important to acknowledge systems that have impacted your life, am socially conscious in my work with clients— all identities, cultures, and types of relationships are welcome.
I work from a relationship-based and insight-oriented approach, and use practices from IFS, mindfulness, and CBT. In my work with children, I am non-directive and play-based. I am a certified Yoga Instructor and use this in sessions when desired by a client, using movement and an awareness of emotions and breath to help in healing as well. I specialize in trauma, and work with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and coping with life changes and stressors.
I graduated with a MSW degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2009 and have worked in outpatient and residential settings, as well as crisis hotline work.
